During their sixth course, medical students at our Faculty are required to rotate through nine different Hospital Departments to acquire clinical skills. Each stage lasts four weeks, five days a week, from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. This is a 54 ECTS subject for our students, but it is open as a “fragmented” subject for foreign students in “Interchange Programs”, who can apply for any number of “4 weeks” rotations at the different Hospital Departments.
Each "rotation" equals 6 ECTS

1. Calendar

2. How it is organized

3. Language skills

The Department of Surgery & Radiology is in charge of the coordination of the “Rotary Clinical Practice”. The students in “Interchange Programs” should contact the Department to organize their respective Rotations.
For each Rotation, a Tutor will be assigned to the student, who will organize the clinical activities of the student, as well as its final evaluation.

Due to organizational constraints, it is mandatory that all of the students start and finish their rotation at fixed dates. Exceptions to this norm are not accepted.

A basic knowledge of the Spanish Language is required. Though many physicians are able to communicate in English, it is not so common for the patients.
In those Departments marked as “English Friendly” there is a Tutor available to orient the student in English through sporadically held tutorial sessions.
